Cola-Clash Week #5 Grayslake, IL

Jonathan BarberCola Clash Updates

Our first ever Cola-Clash in Grayslake, Illinois was a great blessing! The one thing that stands out the most was the involvement of the people during the week. It seemed like everybody came out to help with the outreach. We had plenty of drivers, recruiters, and most importantly, counselors. God answered our prayers by sending us 65 teenagers over the three nights.  There were about 15 or so young people that accepted the Lord as their Savior including some that the church folks had been praying for for some time.

One young man responded the second night, but wasn’t ready to make the decision to accept Christ. One of the team members and Bro. Barber talked to him for quite some time, but he just wasn’t ready. The next night he came back and confidently told his team captain that he had accepted the Lord the night before at home.  Praise the Lord for the conviction of the Spirit of God that does not let people go!

God gave us absolutely beautiful weather all week long.  It was cool and sunny for our rallies, which is quite a blessing when you’re playing Tube-Tug!  After some initial attitude issues on Wednesday night, the teens responded well and finished the week with an amazing spirit!

The Coke team pulled out their second straight win to even the summer at 2-2 with Pepsi. The highlight of the competition was when a Pepsi girl who happened to be the first person in the mudpit got face-planted into the mud. After she went in, her teammates piled in on top of her making her one of the muddiest kids we’ve ever had at a Cola-Clash! What a distinction!

Praise the Lord for a truly wonderful week! Thank you so much for praying. It is churches like this one that are exciting for us to work with in the ministry. God truly blessed their simple faith.

Pray for us now as we minister in South Bend, Indiana! Thanks!
