Cola-Clash Week #8 Taylors, SC

Jonathan BarberCola Clash Updates

Praise the Lord for the work done at Faith Baptist Church in Taylors, SC last week.  The Lord brought this week about just 6 weeks before the event!  We had an opening due to a cancellation, and they had an evangelistic rally scheduled, but not enough time to bring it together due to a heavy schedule of activities this summer.  God was in it, and brought it all together.

The week began with 83 teenagers attending.  Friday was our high with 92 coming out for the event.  In all, there were 40 teenagers from outside the church, and nine decisions for the week.  It was great to see a young man accept the Lord on Friday night that the youth pastor had been working with for over a year.  The conviction of sin was so evident with this young man.  The Holy Spirit illuminated not only his need, but the answer to it.  What a victory!

On the way down to South Carolina, we had one of those dreaded blowouts.  As hard as it is to see anything good in a blowout of a two-year-old tire that ripped up the underbelly of the trailer, God certainly did work it together for good.  First, we were just outside a mile-and-a-half-long tunnel when it blew.  I was able to get the truck stopped just a few feet away from the opening.  Second, the construction crew was right there to block traffic and get us off of the road safely.  Third, the crew had all the tools and the air compressor necessary to get us back on the road in just a short time.  Fourth, when I took the blowout into the store to have it replaced, I found out that it was under a recall which entitled me to a free tire!  Fifth, I found that I had three other tires that were recalled.  The shop had them switched out in just 15 minutes!  Praise the Lord!

One more praise…  My truck’s fuel injectors were replaced this week for free!  A diesel mechanic in the church did the work, and another man picked up the bill.  If you know anything about fuel injectors you would know that a job like this is very expensive.  God was so good to us to provide for this need.

The people at Faith were such servant’s!  We are so thankful to these folks.  It was wonderful to be able to get to know them.  Praise the Lord for a wonderful week in so many ways.  God is faithful!
