Minutemen Headquarters Project

Jim Van GelderenMinutemen Headquarters

We at Minutemen Ministries have been praying for a while now about the need for a Minutemen Headquarters.  With four teams storage is now a major problem.  Plus all of the evangelists that travel with our ministry need a place to call home when they are back in town.  We also need a place to train and house our teams and team members when they are in training and back at the base.  Plus, we really need a place we can park the RVs when the teams are not on the road.  Should I mention the need for a hockey rink?  (Just kidding, but this is Wisconsin.)

Recently an opportunity came our way that has been exciting to watch unfold.  About 2 miles from my home in Wisconsin is an old ten room motel (The kind that usually advertises “Color TV” and “Air Conditioning”!).  We have had our eye on this 2 acre property for a while.  Recently the owner said he would sell it to us if we would “take over the payments.”  He bought it for $400,000 and that is what the bank that holds the mortgage recently appraised the property for.  On March 31, 2013 Minutemen Ministries can buy the property for $290,000.  Right now Baptist College of Ministry is renting it as temporary dormitories until their own dorms are built.  BCM put hundreds of volunteer hours into the building and several thousand dollars to get it ready to be temporarily occupied.  If we buy the building, it is ready to be used.

We would like to raise the funds in the next few months for this building.  Would you pray about a gift to this project?

Please view our Minutemen Headquarters Project page more more information on how you can be a help toward completing this project.
