The War Week #5 – Hampton, GA

Bobby BoslerThe War Updates

During our training week at the beginning of the summer, I explain to my team everything that needs to be done in a week. There is setup, recruiting, prayer, phone calling, fellowship, meals, and the actual War nights. Then I explain to them what goes into our week in Hampton each summer. It has been dubbed our “Suicide Week.” During this week, in addition to all that was just mentioned, we do 14 competitions, 16+ hours of recruiting, 7 cheering contests, dozens of trivia questions, 7 testimonies and songs, 7 gospel messages, and 7 invitations all in 90 degree weather in a gym without air conditioning. Each time I agree to this, I ask myself the question, Am I crazy? You bet. I’m crazy about seeing people saved.

Though an insane amount of effort went into this event, it was well worth it to see what God did. We had 209 teens attend The War over the five days and seven rallies. Our high day was 115 on Friday morning. Even more exciting than all of that, we had 38 young people trust Christ as their Savior!! On top of that, many of the young people who came this year had received Christ last year at The War in Hampton. They were still confident in their salvation! Praise the Lord for a settled assurance in these hearts! We are exhausted, but in a satisfied sort of way.
