God gave us a wonderful finale to a tremendous summer. This past week in Ludington, we saw God open doors, open hearts, and open the windows of heaven. Being in a tourist town can have its challenges. But, God enabled greatly during the recruiting times, leading us to many teenagers. 93 teenagers came out to the Cola-Clash over the three nights. Each night, the attendance went up, as did the excitement of the teens. 12 teenagers professed faith in Christ as their Savior this week!
One girl came back at the invitation two times but would not get saved because she thought that she was too bad a sinner. Thankfully, the Lord opened her eyes to the reality that Christ came to save sinners (Luke 5:31-32). What a joy it was to see her countenance change as she allowed Jesus to save her soul.
Another teenager, a young man, left the final night still without the Lord. One of the team captains caught up to him outside and asked about his soul. The young man replied despairingly that he was just going to have to find his own way. However, after just a few words of the Scripture, the Holy Spirit had done the work and through tears the young man accepted Christ as his Savior. Afterwards, he could not help smiling as he told the youth pastor and others.
Every time a teenager comes to the Cola-Clash I marvel at the grace and power of God. Every time a teenager gets saved at the Cola-Clash, I am reminded of the power of the Gospel and the convicting work of the Holy Spirit. The Gospel works! It has worked all summer! The trouble is that we don’t believe it and therefore we do not by faith seek to get people under the powerful sound of the Gospel. Oh, that we would get busy! Oh, that we would believe the Lord.
I praise the Lord for the opportunity to preach the Gospel in 6 states, 15 churches, and 1 summer camp. We ministered to around 1,000 young people (not including adults) and saw 200 professions of faith in the Savior. God answered so many prayers. We are so thankful to the Lord for His goodness. Thank you to each one of you who prayed. You had a real part in our ministry more than you or I even know.
“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.” ~ 1 Timothy 1:12
