We had a wonderful week just outside Chicago in Palos Hills, IL. This was the first time that this church has had an event like this, and they took it very seriously. God blessed us with 97 teenagers over the three nights with a high night of 66 and a total of 25 salvation decisions! Praise the Lord!
There are so many testimonies, but I’ll narrow it down to a couple. There were two older girls that came every night, but would not respond at the invitation. They would bring friends and participate, but they would not respond though the conviction was evident. A team member plead with them on Thursday, but to no avail. On Friday, God gave grace, and when the invitation was given, those two were among the first to respond. It as as if they had decided together ahead of time that this was going to be the night. What a victory!
A tall, 16-year-old boy came all three nights, and responded to the counseling room all three nights under deep conviction. But, the way he would deal with the conviction was through arguing. He simply did not want to give in. On the final night, he responded again. I had personally dealt with him each night. This time he opened up to me about dabbling into the occult. I put it to him straight and the battle raged. At the point of decision, he was literally writhing on the ground with his head in his hands. This went on for about ten minutes before I prayed out loud, claiming the victory, and after about 5 more minutes of intense battle God broke through. He prayed out loud to receive “Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.” Afterwards, he pulled his shirt up over his eyes and wept as we talked of his new life in Christ. Before leaving, he asked, “What do I have to do to travel on the Cola-Clash team one day?” I replied, “Take the first step… be here for church on Sunday morning.” Let’s believe God for just such a miracle.
What a wonderful week with these dear folks. We look forward to being with them again next year!
