Well, we might have gotten rained on, but let me say that the spiritual downpour of God’s blessing far surpassed the downpour of rain we received on Thursday night. In fact, the rain ended up being quite a blessing. On a day that saw 105 degrees and horrible humidity, the rain was a refreshing blessing during our outdoor competitions. God answered prayer in holding off the lightning that would have ended our outdoor events. But, rain notwithstanding, we had just shy of 90 teenagers out for the event that night. Over the three nights, there were 146 teenagers that came to the Cola-Clash, 101 on our high night, and 36 professions of faith in the Savior!
There were several victories this week. On Thursday night, on of the team members talked to a girl who was really under conviction, but unwilling to come to Christ. She said she would not be back on Friday, so this was our last opportunity with her. She was a very needy girl. After several minutes of spiritual battle, the young lady called upon the Lord to be saved!
Many of the teenagers that came were all from an area that the church is already reaching out to with rides and a bible study. There are so many contacts from that neighborhood now that they may need to send out the bus! We pray that the Lord will carry on the work that He has begun!
Next week, with the 4th of July falling on Wednesday, we won’t be having a Cola-Clash. However, we will be ministering at First Baptist Church of Woodridge, IL all week long. Our team will assist with VBS canvassing every day as well has assisting with the BCM Alumni Retreat. Looking forward to a great week!
