It was great to be back in Troy, Ohio for our fourth VBS/Cola-Clash! Sometimes we’ve seen towns grow accustomed to the Cola-Clash after several years in a row, but that has not been the case here. Recruiting went well with 390 teenagers expressing interest in the event! All-in-all, 113 came out with a high night of 82. There were over twenty professions of faith as well as some young people who dealt with the matter of the assurance of their salvation.
Vacation Bible School each morning also yielded several souls saved and good attendance throughout the week. The theme, “Troy Kingdom,” was a lot of fun. Brother Barber played King Arthuritus and Mrs. Barber played Queen Ghwenever. Samuel and Erin are still singing, “Troy Kingdom, everyone should come. Troy Kingdom, come and join the fun!”
The crowd this year was “spirited” to say the least. The Coke team especially had more than their fair share of energy and enthusiasm. Thankfully for Coke, they were able to channel that energy just enough to squeak out a win for the week. Pepsi fought hard, but attendance ultimately is what was their demise. Overall, both teams did a great job.
We have heard that several teenagers have been continuing to attend services since we’ve left. The church has done a great job of following through with these teenagers. It is so exciting to see a church that follows through in discipleship!
