There is no doubt in anybody’s mind that this meeting was one big Divine appointment. God had been stirring Pastor Risinger and the folks at Lighthouse Baptist Church in South Bend to take this kind of a step for some time. It was evident when we arrived and began sharing the details of how God had brought this together that God was on the move. We had excellent participation from the entire church family. The young people of the church were truly phenomenal. We had so much help that sometimes we didn’t have enough for everybody to do! That is a rare problem to have!
Recruiting was outstanding with almost 600 teens expressing interest. Phone calling went well also with many kids promising to come. Ultimately, 106 teenagers attended over the three nights with a high night of 79. There were 20 teenagers that accepted the Lord on Wednesday, 16 more on Thursday, and one more on Friday! Thankfully, we had plenty of counselors to deal with all of the young people. What a blessing to see some of the church young people counselling as well!
One of the most exciting things about this week is the fact that they had prepared so thoroughly for the follow-up endeavors that would take place immediately following the outreach. From the get-go, this church really believed God for disciples. The discipleship materials had been ordered, and the Sunday night discipleship class had been announced. God granted them their request by giving them between 15-18 every Sunday night since. What’s even more exciting is that the numbers are growing! More have been saved, and more are being discipled! What a blessing!
On a personal note, this week was a milestone for Samuel. Samuel had been praying for a “big boy” bike for some time now. We were able to find a bike just his size for $5 and get him all set up with training wheels! After the training wheels were on, he rode that bike constantly. Erin in now using Samuel’s old tricycle and is almost able to pedal all by herself. It was a fun week for the kids.
Please keep this church in prayer as they continue to trust God for remaining fruit.
