Too often we are tempted to live according to sight and not by faith. In doing that, we can miss what God is doing under the surface because we can’t see it. That was the story of Godfrey. The week had several challenges both spiritually and logistically, but God won the victory. Right from the beginning, the team felt their weakness and the need for God to break through. Our lifeline was the prayer meetings. God clearly directed each day in the prayer meeting, and each day we left the prayer room with confidence. It felt a lot like Jericho. You might not see or hear any cracking, but as you continue to obey and circle the city each day, the Lord brings the victory.

After a rough time out recruiting time on Monday, Caleb, the Seal team captain, went out on Tuesday morning and recruited three guys at a bus stop. Even though his follow-up text never went through, they all ended up coming to the first War night and all three of those boys got saved!

God allowed Esther and Abigail, the Seal and Ranger team co-captains, to recruit a whole group of teenage guys playing basketball.  It was a tremendous encouragement to see these guys come out during the War nights and to see several of them get saved. Abigail also recruited a middle school girl who brought her two sisters to a War night, and they all got saved.

The team was burdened for the salvation of a young man from the school. All week they were not sure if he was saved. This young man came to the War night on Friday and after being approached by Jonathan, the Marine team captain, in regards to his salvation, he received Christ as his Savior.

We also saw God do some incredible things at the Christian school. The teens were the most receptive that our team has ever experienced here at Faith. During the split sessions specifically, God gave a great liberty in presenting truth, and the team saw several respond.

After Friday chapel, four teens responded saying they wanted to be spiritual leaders in the school. One of them gave this testimony Friday night:

“In the prayer time we had today I went to the back and God was really dealing with me. He was like, ‘…you need to be a leader in your school.’ … I’m supposed to help people in some way, I don’t know what yet, but I’m supposed to be a leader…”

After we left, we found a letter from one of the teens. She expressed how much God had done in her heart during the week. It was neat to see that God truly was working even when we could not see the outcome. We are very encouraged with what God did during our time there, and know that God will continue to work in the hearts of the teens at the school.
