The team has been to Beaver several times to conduct the War of Special Forces. Last time Evangelist Mike Fisher led the team in 2009. The team has been here in 1997, 2003, 2006, 2009 and 2012. Each time it has been a blessing to be here. God is working at Victory Baptist Church in Beaver, WV.
This week the Navy Seals team dominated the week and ended up winning with a big margin on Friday evening. The Recon came in second and the Rangers, who made a great comeback attempt on the last event, came in last. The teens were really in to the competition. It was an intense week.
The testimony service on Friday was especially encouraging. There were at least a good hour of testimonies. Many of the testimonies were about dealing with hidden sin. Two young people said the conviction was so heavy it even “hurt”. Two young ladies threw CDs into the fire concerning which God had convicted them. One of those young ladies threw about 10 CDs in the fire. I was impressed with her resolve to get the music out of her life. As a result of the testimonies there were some who decided to deal with their sin as well. One young man who there for the first time on that Friday night talked about getting right with God this past summer at camp, but he had never come clean with his parents. He gave public testimony that he was going to do that. Several young people were saved on that last night as well.
One young man called his mom after chapel and really came clean about a sin he had been hiding for years. He told his team captain that he could not believe the peace he had as a result. He invited a cousin of his that he had been burdened to see saved. Thursday night his cousin came to me after the invitation and said, “Can you still go to that room?” He was referring to the invitation. I asked him if he wanted to get saved and he acknowledged that he did. At that moment his team captain came by and led him to the Lord. Both this young man and his cousin were thrilled! So were we. It was a great week.
