This is the second visit to Faith Baptist Church and School in Fort Pierce, FL. The first visit was in 2011. Mr. Scott Birt is the principal there. Over the years I have had the privilege of being in some of the schools in which he has ministered. It was good to be with him again. He is doing a good job there and we were grateful for his burden. We also appreciated Pastor Hodge who is an interim pastor there. He was a blessing to be around. You can tell he walks with the Lord.
Although the week had many challenges, we saw the Lord overcoming and working. This county has some very tight regulations and as a result the guys could not recruit teens near the schools. The Lord overcame and we saw a good number of teens come over the three nights. I think we almost had 100 different teens come.
On young man who was out of school came all three nights. Last time he was in the school, but had since left school and his Christian home for a life of sin. God worked in his life and we heard he went before his church and got right with them and his father – a modern day “prodigal son”. Another young lady wept on the final night as all week God had worked in her heart about some relationship issues in her home. Another young man got everything right with his dad and told me later, “I feel great!” It was a challenging week, but before we left we definitely saw the Lord working. Pray that what the Lord has begun will continue! I know that it will be a battle. We do not “wrestle against flesh and blood.”
