Special Forces Week #6 Wilton, CA

Wilton, CA is near Sacramento, but is very rural.  You think you are in the middle of nowhere even though a metropolis is near.  The team has been here twice before.  The team has always enjoyed being here.  Pastor Jeffcott and his staff are a blessing with which to labor.

On Tuesday one of our team captains had invited two huge football players.  He was praying for them all day Thursday.  They both came Thursday night.  During the invitation one of them responded.  He had never heard the Gospel before in his life.  He trusted Christ.  While this was happening, the team captain talked to the other young man.  He was ready and immediately trusted Christ.  After he got saved, he also dealt with some things about which he was doing behind his parent’s backs.

On Friday, one young lady responded to the invitation in chapel.  She was in tears as she explained that she had been saved for years, but had not talked to anyone about Jesus Christ in the five years she was at the Christian school.  She had watched the team talking to all kinds of the teens about their souls after the first night of the War of Special Forces.  She said after she saw that, she wept on her way home.  Before the week was out, she sat next to one of the team as the team member dealt with a teenage girl about salvation.

Another young man gave a testimony on Friday night.  In the middle of the testimony he said, “And this week, Wednesday, I gave my life to Jesus Christ.”  He concluded his testimony by saying, “And it has only been two days and I have been happier than ever. And I hope you guys believe in Jesus Christ.”

One of the girls in the school invited her brothers that did not go to the Christian school to come to the War evening rallies.  Her team captain had asked her earlier, “Is there anybody you can invite?”  She responded, “My brothers, but I’m sure they won’t come.”  The team captain challenged her,  “I will pray for them.”  He encouraged her to invite them by faith.  She did invite them and they both came on Thursday.  That night the oldest brother got saved!  The youngest one came back on Friday and he got saved as well!

Another young man was under conviction about some worldly music.  Thursday evening he cut a dead branch off a tree in the backyard and used it to make a fire.  He put his music in the fire and on Friday was thrilled about doing so.

On Friday, a young man responded to the invitation.  He had been there all three nights.  The night before he had responded to the invitation, but did not want to get saved.  The final night he confessed that the working of the Lord in his life had definitely increased in his heart.  He was not only ready to get saved, he wanted to!

As you can see, it was a blessed week.  God was working in many lives and it was a blessing to watch it happen!
