Pastor Kent Ramler is no stranger to “The War.” As a teenager he traveled with one of the early teams. In his college years, he traveled with the team as a team captain. He also grew up at the Marquette Manor Baptist Church where “The War” was birthed. It was great to be at Pastor Ramler’s church in MD. The Lord is working there and it was a blessing to be a part of the ministry for a week.
The students in the school immediately threw themselves into the week. They assisted in inviting other teens and were responsive to the Lord’s working themselves. It was an encouraging week. For the record, when the dust cleared, the Navy Seals team took the week.
A young lady on the Ranger team went around her neighborhood and invited area teens for the Wednesday night rally, but none could come. When she was getting ready to leave, there was a seventh grade neighbor who was locked out of his house. Evidently he called his parents and they said he could come to the rally that night. The young man came and was wondrously saved. On Friday night he brought several friends as well as giving a testimony of his salvation.
A student in the school invited several public school friends, but on Wednesday none of them came to the rally. He knew that he had some things about which he needed to get right with his dad. He realized that was a hindrance in the Lord using him. The Lord used Proverbs 28:13 “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper” to convict him of why he was not prospering. On Thursday afternoon he decided he was going to talk to his dad and get everything right. He did and that night several of those he invited came and several responded to the invitation to be saved.
On Friday during the invitation most of the students responded to an invitation for those who had said “yes” to the Lord’s working publically or privately during the week and wanted their decision to last. Many of them indicated the Lord had worked in their hearts about a right attitude towards their parents. Many gave testimonies that night and a theme definitely was the joy that had come as a result of responding to the Lord and getting things right.
This week Aaron Fenimore came in to pinch hit for the Recon team captain slot. Aaron was a veteran from the Real Character team last fall. On Friday a teenage relative of his was able to come and be on his team. Although that night the young relative did not get saved, Aaron was able to lead him to the Lord the next day. We all were thrilled!
