Special Forces Week #9 – Miami, FL

Jim Van GelderenSpecial Forces Updates

Minutemen Ministries has grown to love Westwood Christian School and its staff over the years we have had the privilege to go there. Our first visit was in 1997 and including this year the team has been here 7 times.

In 1997, the Army Rangers won and in 2007 the Marine Recon won. However, the other 5 times the Navy Seals have won. It looked like Recon would win this year, but the Navy Seals pulled a Friday night come from behind victory to stun the sure Recon team.

We were thankful for a good number of good testimonies on Friday night. Below is one from a young man. I have edited it some, but most of the testimony is here,
“I got saved my 6th grade year in school. And I remember getting saved. I remember the burden He took off from my heart the next few weeks. But after that I stopped reading the Bible. I was off for 2 years and last school year I got back on track. I was happier than I’ve ever been. This summer, I got off track again: stopped going to church, stopped reading the Bible. And I came this year, every Monday, going to chapel, and then the War of Special Forces came. I was like, ‘Oh great, I’m going to chapel every day. It’s not going to be very fun.’ Monday, I didn’t think about it. I kept blocking it out. Tuesday I blocked it again. And then Wednesday I started to get convicted. Thursday came and I was starting to feel really convicted. I didn’t want to get right with God. And today when he broke us up into groups, God just really touched my heart. I didn’t get right with God right after the service, but I went home and got right with my parents. To be honest, there’s no joy like getting right with God . . . I just want to thank all the staff and everybody this week. It really touched my heart.”
We thank the Lord for His Reviving work in our lives when we trust Him and obey. It was a blessing to see the Lord work in lives.
