The War — Pensacola, FL

Our team was last with Faith Baptist Church in the Spring of 2015. God blessed our time, and so when Pastor James Wooten invited us to come and do The War again, we were happy to return. Their ministry is a thriving ministry with people who love Jesus and each other. The people love preaching and they are very easy to preach to.

When we arrived, we were thrilled to see several who had gotten saved or assured last time faithfully attending the church. Also, the young people were excited from the start, especially since they had a better idea of what to expect this time around.

In addition to all of that, my heart was thirsty for God to move in a greater way than we had seen so far this semester. God had taught me much at the Victory Conference the previous week and challenged me in prayer. My heart had been filled and my prayer was that it would overflow into the week.

As should be expected, when we are expecting the greatest things, the biggest challenges emerge. We had several trailer issues including a blowout on the way to the meeting, but God gave peace and gave us what we needed to get to our destination. God also provided a fellow evangelist who was in town to help me fix the residual damage that was incurred and beef things up so it wouldn’t happen again.

Though I was somewhat distracted by the repairs, the guys were doing well in recruiting and other preparations. But still, we were far below our goals and I was beginning to get nervous about how the meeting was going to go.

On Saturday night, though, God encouraged us all with an excellent crowd—78 young people attended the event! Even more thrilling was that at the invitation 14 stepped out to trust Christ as their Savior! God moved each night and young people were saved, so that at the end of the week 21 precious souls had come to Jesus!

It was a genuine pleasure to partner with Faith Baptist Church and we will be praying as they already have several great opportunities to disciple the young people and bring them to church. Would you pray that God gives them much success in the follow up endeavor?
