The War Week #3 – New Concord, OH

Praise the Lord for a great week with Pastor Michael De Leon and Lighthouse Baptist Church. Our week was definitely an exciting one! The War had been to Lighthouse back in the 90’s and had a stellar turnout. In fact, an unusual number of people in the community still remember The War. We were anticipating a good week.

On our first night, even though the Navy team dominated the night, the spirit was good on both teams. When we came to the invitation, God worked and a good number of teens responded. After the night was done, 10 teens had trusted Christ.

Approaching the second night, we had a high percentage chance of thunderstorms right during our competition times. Our team met with God in prayer on the matter. However, half an hour before the competitions began, the weather looked even worse. The clouds looked very intimidating. However, we simply looked to the Lord to deliver, and proceeded on as if He would do it. God split the thunderstorm in half and we ended up with a small amount of rain during the first competition. The sight was incredible as we literally saw the thunderclouds part before our very eyes!!

All in all, 17 teens trusted Christ over the course of the week. We had a total of 53 teens attend the event, with a high night of 48. At the conclusion of the final night, there was a beautiful, perfect double rainbow in the sky, a thrilling reminder of the faithfulness of God.

One final note about the week–one of the young men who got saved the first night received word after he had exited the counseling room that His older sister had lost her life in a tragic accident. Though he had literally just received spiritual life, his sister had just lost her physical life. Please pray for him and his family as they grieve. The young man attended all three nights of The War.
