The War Week #4 – Sulphur Springs, TX

Bobby BoslerThe War Updates

What an exciting week in Sulphur Springs! This week will certainly go down in the books as the church that had done the most front-work before a week. Many of our duties had already been taken care of before we even arrived—from the chairs set up to the mud-pit dug! In addition, the youth pastor had been preparing and leading the teens toward this opportunity for months. When we arrived, there were a few recruiting opportunities, but by and large almost everyone in town had already heard about The War—invited by the teens themselves! We excitedly anticipated large crowds, and large crowds we got!

Our first night’s crowd was over one hundred teens, a large majority of them being from other gospel-preaching churches in the area. We saw seven teens trust Christ in the first invitation. The second night our crowd grew, and three were saved. The final night, we lost some because of the spring break week, but nearly broke one hundred again. Two were saved in the invitation the final night. Due to the large Christian population in the crowd, we had several teens get assurance of their salvation. With others, God broke their hearts over hidden sin during the gospel messages and they came clean in the invitation. All in all, we had a cumulative attendance of 169 teens, with a high night of 129.
