Another great week of The War! We spent our week in Moline, IL, the heart of John Deere country. We worked with Chris Cain, the pastor of Grace Baptist Church. His son, Joseph, traveled as the Army team captain this past Spring semester on The War team. It was great to see Joseph again!
While we didn’t have the largest crowds I’ve ever experienced, the crowds that we did have were pumped and excited. The first night, the Navy team was very much down in numbers. Despite the sparseness of their team, they finished the night only 800 points behind the Army team with a score of 8,200 to 9,000. The second night, Navy surged in their attendance and their performance, winning the night at 27,600 to 19,900. The final night, Army team dominated just about everything, pulling out all the stops and winning the night at 49,900 to 42,400.
The crowds we had were not only pumped and competitive, but they were ripe as well. The first night, though numbers were way down, God worked and 15 teens trusted Christ as their Savior in the counseling room. The second night, we had even more visitors, and 16 more teens chose to depend on Jesus alone for salvation. The final night, 5 teens trusted Christ in the counseling room and 1 in the parking lot. All in all, we had 69 teens attend The War and 37 of them got saved. Many of them are very interested in church and discipleship as well. Praise God for a white harvest field!
