The War Week #5 – Pine Bluff, AR

Praise the Lord for God getting us to Pine Bluff! We were originally scheduled to be at another church in Pine Bluff, but due to uncontrollable circumstances, we had to cancel that week with somewhat short notice. However, it soon came to my attention that another church in town, Liberty Baptist Church, had a new youth director named Brady Van Winkle, who just happens to be a very close acquaintance of mine! Twenty-four hours and a phone call later, God had scheduled us right back in Pine Bluff, AR! Suffice it to say, we knew that God wanted to do a work in that city.

Though we entered the week with much faith and expectation, our week was not without battles. In fact, we faced some of the most intense battles yet in this little town. For example, the school everyone fully expected us to get into flat out rejected us. However, not to be deterred, we pursued another nearby school that everyone told us that we could never get into, and subsequently received free reign to recruit the students in the lunch room and on the property after school!

During the rally nights, we also received opposition. One night, a large group of teens stood up and left; another night, the church van blew a tire and caused its sixteen passengers to completely miss the outside competitions. Nevertheless every night God convicted hearts. We were able to preach to over 65 teens and 16 trusted Christ over the course of the week. To God be the glory!
